My baffle board broke. I see in comments a lot of ppl took there's out, the kaowool . I am considering prying the top cooking plate off so I can add a new baffle board if I take mine out. If the the cast iron top came off that would be great. Know how? Did you take the secondary burn pipes out to get a new board in? I am considering 1/4inch steel board as a replacement. I know this is old but if anyone can help me out, I really can't find any info on how to replace this board anywhere.

Does it have voulme controle for increasing and decreasing sound?

Love the baby gate. I’ve got a stove located centrally in my off grid getaway cabin and my wife is afraid of our dogs getting too close. I had the same idea and it’s nice to see it in practice.

I always open the door a crack and also the vent and thus never have smoke coming out! Don't leave that door open, gases come out, not healthy!

Matt really needs to take care of himself. Looks quite unhealthy. Why go through this living off the grid to free yourself from city life, when you are plagued by diabetes, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, and are projected to have your lifespan reduced by 10-20 years (those are CDC data points).

Great job on this video, you two! My wife and I just purchased one of these cast iron wood stoves from TSC in Conway yesterday. I didn't notice you can't pull the bottom tray on these like you can the old ones. How long do you like to cut your firewood for these models? Oh, by the way, that chili looks some kinda gooood! :)

Great Job on this. We have had a box stove in our Camp in Northern Pennsylvania. Since 1974. Just up graded to a new sealed flat top , glass window front door. Burns longer at night after loading up. I really enjoyed seeing the kids first snow. Brought a tear to my eye. My 2 daughters are grown. Time flys. Enjoy Every Moment My Friend.

As a New Orleans native and resident, I can attest that hot, humid air is NOT a comfortable feeling environment! It causes a condition we call “swamp ass,” which is where you sweat so profusely that it drips down your back into the seat of your pants and you look like you’ve soiled yourself… So yes, you want to heat your house with a dry heat and if needed, use a dehumidifier!

My 2020 epa stove has two handles, a built in damper in the stove above the door and an air control below the door. The only time the damper is open is when I start a fire or to open the door. Once the flue is heated i close the damper and just use the air control. My stove just has the reburn tubes.

Get rid of the EPA damper. And install one with a handle. Like they were intended to be . and before you open the door , open the damper fully, you know strait up ! .if the stack is clean that should stop any or most of the smoke from coming out of the front of the stove...

Put a grate in that stove it Will work a lot better also if you start a fire build a hot fire and you will help keep the flue pipe clean , the grate holds the wood up off the bottom of the stove

I've never burned pine in a wood stove. Even dried it will have pitch in it. Stick with hardwoods. A chimney fire is the worst.
